Residential pricing

What is happening?

The price you pay for electricity is increasing by 4% on 1 December 2024.

Even though global wholesale energy costs have stabilised in recent months, there has been an increase in other market and network related costs.

What does this mean for me?

This means that you will see an increase of 4% to the price you pay, which means on average you will be paying around 10p more per day.*

Power NI is the only regulated electricity supplier that is price-regulated by the Utility Regulator. This means that they review and agree any changes to our tariffs, ensuring that you pay a fair price.

I am a Keypad customer, what do I need to do?

  • From 11 November 2024, when you buy a top-up, you will get a 40 to 60 digit price change code.
  • Enter this into your meter and then press the # button.
  • Your meter will then switch to the new rate on 1 December

Please note, you must enter this longer code before any further top-up codes can be accepted.

For Keypad+ customers, this code can be sent via Bluetooth as normal.

How to change your Keypad to our new rate

This quick and easy step-by-step guide will show you how to change your Keypad to our new rate.

Following our price change, when you purchase a Power NI Keypad top up you will receive a one-off price change powercode (which will be 40 or 60 digits, depending on your tariff). You will need to key in all digits on your Keypad followed by the # key.
