Your guide to switching electricity suppliers

  • What you need
To switch electricity supplier it helps if you’ve got a recent bill, letter, email or your Keypad annual statement to hand as this will carry most of the information you need.
  • Existing supplier
You don’t need to contact your existing supplier to let them know that you're switching, we take care of this for you.
  • Only takes minutes
Our switch online process only takes minutes to complete, and your new account should be fully set up within a few weeks. You do not need to do anything further, we will send you a welcome pack with all the information you need about your new account.
  • No interruptions
Switching to a new electricity supplier will not cause any interruption to your supply as there is no physical change to your meter (unless you decide to switch from billing to pay as you go or vice versa).
  • Cooling-off
If you switch and change your mind you have a 14-day cooling-off period (10 working days) to cancel your switch.
  • No contracts
Once your switch is complete you will be a contract free customer with Power NI which means no additional exit fees
